What does value freedom mean?
This is when sociologists ensure that their own values do not influence their research conduction or conclusions.

Myrdal says that value free research cannot and shouldn’t be done because if we don’t allow our values to influence things, we won’t be able to learn about things that are important such as gender and class inequalities.
What is value relevant sociology?
Value relevant sociology is the idea that we allow our values limited influence on research. We would allow it to inform our choice of research.

Allowing your values to influence certain aspects such as topic of research but still keeping them out of the data collection

Value laden says that you cannot escape your values and that all aspects are controlled by it - choosing to research without value input is a value
