  • C - cultural diversity - when both sides of the family are of different cultural backgrounds.
  • L - life course analysis - for example newly marries couples without children may have a different family life from those with dependent children.
  • O - organisational diversity - how the family is structured in terms of its members and power structures. eg. who has the most power eg lone parent, empty nest or nuclear

  • S - social class diversity - inequalities in lifestyle have increased. W/I have an influence in terms of type of housing, financial problems and holidays.
