Microsystem
Closest to the person and where you have direct contact (home, school, family, peers)
Mesosystem
Interaction between different parts of your microsystem. This system has an indirect impact on you, such as the interaction between your parents and the school.
Exosystem
A setting that does not involve you as an active participant (parent’s work).
Macrosystem
The cultural environment where you live and includes cultural values, the economy, and the political system
Chronosystem
Transitions or shifts within your lifespan that may have a socio-historical context.
Individualist Approach to gender
Views gender as a characteristic of people,
Focus is on the individual traits, characteristics, and identities, and
Suggests that gender operates primarily through these aspects of individuals.
Interactionist Approach
The focus is on the social context.individual’s behaviors and responses vary based on social context.
Homophily principle
