What are the drug

interactions of theophylline?

A
  • high doses of -beta2agonists with theophylline can cause hypokalaemia.
  • ciprofloxacin inhibits P450 enzymes causing theophylline toxicity
  • adenosine (theophylline reduces it’s effect)
  • halothane (risk of arrhythmias)
  • Ketamine (seizure risk)
