- justice for Bartholomew but not justice as Small is the real antagonist ‘he was devoted to me and would do anything to serve me’
How is justice explored through Small’s treatment?
Even though he committed a crime, Holmes will not let Small be accused of Bartholomew’s murder
‘I think I can prove that the poison acted so quickly it worked before you ever reached the room’
Verb ‘think’ suggests hesitation from Holmes because of all the hard work he has done but he is a just man and Small didn’t kill Bartholomew
