What is peace?
The absence of disturbance, or a state of happiness and tranquility.

Showing grace and mercy, pardoning someone for their wrongdoing.
What is reconciliation?
Restoring a relationship after a conflict or disagreement.
What do Christians believe about reconciliation?
It should be achieved -> however it required a conscious effort and is more than forgiveness.
What has to happen before a protest can go ahead?
They often have to be planned out, requested and police informed.
What do Christians believe about violence and protest?
It should always be avoided if it can be. However, sometimes it is needed to stand up to injustices, so they will be forgiving of people doing this in some cases.
What quote could be used to support the idea of violence as protest?
“If there is serious injury, you are to take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth.” -Exodus 21:23-24
What is terrorism?
The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims. It is often wide-scale.
What do terrorists believe about the use of violence?
The killing of innocents will spread awareness of their cause, authorities will give into their demands.
Why are many Christians against many wars and conflicts?
- Violence is wrong.
- War is often the result of greed (e.g: the pursuit of territory, money, power) which is a sin.
What does 1 Timothy say about greed?
“For the love of money is the root of all evil.” -1 Timothy 6:10
What do Christians believe about retaliation?
It is difficult to do in practice, but we should try to not retaliate where possible and try to opt for forgiveness/renconciliation instead.

What do Christians believe about self defence?
Fighting in self-defence is considered to be acceptable as you are fighting for the lives of innocents. However, it should only be a last resort.
