What is just war and what’s the criteria?
Set of rules for fighting in war in a way where its acceptable by God
1) Declared by legitimate authority
2) just cause
3) right intention
4) Last resort
5 ) Reasonable chance of success
6) Innocent civilians not targeted
7) use of force must be proportional
lesser jihad criteria
Just Cause: The war must be for a righteous cause, defending Islam or Muslim communities from aggression.
Leadership Authority: A qualified religious leader must declare and lead the jihad.
Last Resort: All peaceful means to resolve conflict must be exhausted before resorting to armed struggle.
Proportionality: The level of force used should be proportionate to the threat.
Protection of Innocents: Civilians, women, children, and non-combatants must be protected from harm.
No Aggression: The intention behind the jihad should not be to conquer or spread Islam through force, but to defend against aggression.
