what is the scientific explanation for the creation of the universe called and what what is it
- The big bang
- The Big Bang theory suggests that there was a massive expansion of space which condensed into matter and the matter became galaxies and then kept expanding from there
what is the christian view on how the universe was created
Christians believe that God is the creator and designer of the universe and that he created everything within it. Most Christians believe in the story of genesis but there are different interpretations of the story
what are the different christian interpretations of the story of genesis
Liberalists- Liberalists take the story of genesis metaphorically, they don’t believe that everything within the story is factual but instead believe the story is symbolic and represents God creating the universe but possibly may also look at science
Literalist-Literalist take the story of genesis to be factual and believe that the people who wrote the story were inspired straight from God and so therefore believe the story is 100% true.
what is the buddhist view on how the universe was created
Some buddhists accept the Big Bang theory but most see the universe being cyclical and so therefore they believe there is no beginning or end to the universe as they believe that everything is constantly changing.

Christians value the world as they see the it as a gift from God and they believe they should respect God’s creation

Buddhists value the earth and believe that is even though the world belongs to nobody, they should make sure that everyone actively worlds to respect it

Some Christians believe in the idea that God gave them stewardship and so therefore they believe that it is there duty to respect and protect the environment on behalf of god - Geneiss ‘work it and take care of it”
Other Christians believe that God gave humans dominion and so therefore they believe they can do whatever they want to the environment, however most chose to protect it

Buddhists believe that they should treat the environment with respect as if they don’t and choose to misuse the environment then they will cause suffering for themselves and others.
The first moral precept also states to avoid harming living beings and this can relate to the animals within the environment-hence why many are vegetarian
why should natural reources not be used
Some natural resources are non-renewable and so therefore they do not have an infinite supply and so will run out quicker and other alternative options will need to be found.
Some natural resources also release more carbon emissions out and greenhouse gases into the universe therefore causing less harm
what do christians want to do about pollution and what do they believe about pollution
christians want to reduce pollution and they believe that pollution is a consequence of humans not looking after the world in which God created for us properly. They also believe that adding to the problem of pollution is not loving towards other -‘love thy neighbour’

Buddhists want to reduce pollution and they believe that pollution causes harm to all living creatures so therefore pollutions goes against the first moral precept ‘do not harm’

Christians believe that animals were created by god for humans to use and take care of . However, many believe that they aren’t as important as humans as they weren’t created in the image of god but they should stile treated kindly
what do budhists believe about animals overall
buddhists believe that animals should be treated with kindness and compassion just like they should treat humans. They also believe in Karma and so any bad treatment towards animals will causes personal suffering

most buddhist are completely against animal testing because they believe that animals should not be harmed but some think it is okay if it saves humans but most don’t think this way.
