Who is Krishna?
Krishna is the 8th avatar of Vishnu, worshipped as supreme by Vaishnavites.
Who is Arjuna?
Arjuna is a warrior in the kshatriya caste meaning hs varna is to fight in the war.
What’s the story of Krishna & Arjuna?
Arjuna leads the Pandavas army, the Kurus army consists of Arjuna’s friends and family. Krishna was friends with both and offered his army to one side and himself to the other. The leader of the Kurus chose his army so Arjuna got krishna. Arjuna didn’t want to kill his friends and family and so Krishna reminded him that his duty was to fight and by not fighting it would accumulate bad karma, whereas actions done out of duty don’t have negative karmic effect. Also, killing his family allows them to be reborn.
What is taught in the story of Krishna and Arjuna?
Lord Krishna’s teachings to Arjuna highlighted, that all wars first exist in the mind. Thus, winning in the mind is the first step to winning on the battlefield, and in real life. This story also teaches about karma and duty.
