Ingredients of Theft by taking
Dishonestly - Without claim of right - Takes - Any property - With the intent to deprive the owner permanently of that property OR With the intent to deprive the owner permanently of any interest in that property
Define: Dishonestly
WITHOUT A BELIEF that there was CONSENT or AUTHORITY from the OWNER
Define: Without claim of right
NO BELIEF that the act was LAWFUL
Define: Takes
Physically TAKES or MOVES the property with no authority whatsoever
Define: Any property
ANYTHING whatsoever whether intangible, that’s PROPERTY OF ANY PERSON AND HAS VALUE
Define: With the intent to deprive the owner permanently of that property
DEPRIVE THE OWNER PERMANENTLY or DEAL WITH it so CANNOT BE RESTORED TO ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION
Define: With the intent to deprive the owner permanently of any interest in that property
DEPRIVE THE OWNER PERMANENTLY or that part of property in which they have interest

Dishonestly - Without claim of right - uses or deals with - Any property - With the intent to deprive the owner permanently of that property OR With the intent to deprive the owner permanently of any interest in that property - after obtaining possession or control of that property in whatever manner
Define: after obtaining possession or control of that property in whatever manner
OBTAINS POSSESSION or CONTROL of that property for HIMSELF/HERESELF OR ANY OTHER PERSON
