  • strengthen audiences’ sense of destruction and indignity both = forced to endure
  • Troy’s endures a literal siege by Greeks = metaphorical rape, riches, people culture, wealth and joy taken away
    -Wot metaphorical siege on their minds and livelihoods = literal fear of rape
