Q

What does the quote “all hail, macbeth that shalt be king hereafter!”

A

The commas around Macbeth’s name isolate his name reflecting how they are isolating Macbeth and prohibiting him from seeing their true heinous intentions.Furthermore the exclamative sentence further implies that the status of “king” is used to appeal to Macbeth’s hubris (excessive pride). This allows them to lure Macbeth in and become more duplicitous.

Why are the witches described as “imperfect speakers”

A

Their words are vague and ambiguous because the witches aren’t a source of control but a source of temptation. They speak in riddles which is used to manipulate macbeth as the witches know his greed and obsession for power.
