Damp
Adjective you can use to describe something that is wet, but not very wet.
(Húmedo, también se puede referir a la humedades de una pared).
Daytime
During the day.
“In Northern Europe, daytime temperatures are often quite mild”.
Misty
With clouds of small drops of water in the air.
Frost
A thin, white layer of ice on surfaces when the weather is very cold.
To melt
To change from solid to liquid.
“The ice melts again”.
Stifling
Hot weather, uncomfortable, you can hardly breathy”
Muggy
Más informal, para referirse que el clima está húmedo. Como en verano cuando hace mucha calor y te quedas pegado.
Heatwave
Ola de calor
Drought
Sequía.
“We had a drought/draʊt/ last summer. It didn’train for six weeks”.
Shower
Short period of rain.
Heavy rain
Heavier than a shower, softer than a pour down.
“There was quite a heavy rain during the night”
“It rained heavily during the night”.
Se puede usar de nombre o verbo.
Pour down (verb) / Downpour (noun)
Heavier than heavy rain, softer than torrential rain.
It was absolutely pouring down yesterday.
There was a real downpour.
Flood (noun & verb)
Inundación.
The roads sometimes get flooded.
There are sometimes floods on the roads.
Overcast
Very cloudy. Nublado.
The sky’s a bit overcast.
Gentle breeze
Brisa. Poco viento.
“There was a gentle breeze on the beach, just enough to cool us”.
