He believed if our character was virtuous if would help us follow the Precepts

What are the 4 Cardinal Virtues?
The four human characteristics Aquinas believed were absolutely fundamental to form the basis of a moral life
List the 4 Cardinal Virtues
Fortitude, Temperance, Prudence, Justice
Fortitude
The ability to overcome fear
Temperance
The ability to resist temptation
Prudence
The ability to judge the appropriate action at a give time
Justice
The ability to stand up when you see an injustice is committed
What are the 3 revealed Virtues?
The virtues revealed to humanity through Holy Scripture. These virtues cannot be achieved by human effort, but can only receive them from Divine Grace

Faith, Hope, Charity
Faith
The belief in God, the truth of His revelations, and the obedience to Him
Hope
Not falling into despair, always believe that God is eternally present in you and never giving up on His love
Charity(Love)
A Godly love that helps us love God and our neighbours, more than ourselves
