the league of nations evolved into the united nations after wwii. it changed because of the inequality between countries and their colonies, fair treatment of countries/better representation, holocaust and wwii devastation, and better protection of human rights.

the work of the un is largely based upon it. it includes the most fundamental rights that we take for granted now, such as the right to freedom, shelter, education, freedom of religion
australias contribution to the udhr
australia played a signficant role in the development of the united nations declaration of human rights. dr herbert evatt’s performance earned international recognition and praise for him and australia. thus, in 1948, he was elected as the president of the united nations general assembly.
australia was also part of the delegation that contained 18 countries
how has australia ratified the udhr
australia has ratified the udhr by turning most of its principles into Australian domestic law e.g. the education act, racial discrimination act
