Who was Henry the 8 and how did he rule England
Henry was the king of England between 1509-1547. He ruled the country as Protestant
Who did Britain have a conflict with and why?
Britain had a conflict with Rome because they wanted to switch the country to Protestant where as Rome was catholic.
Why did Henry break from Rome?
He wanted to divorce his wife Catherine of Aragon and he wanted to be with Anne Boleyn but the Catholic Church wouldn’t permit that.
He could make friends with other Protestant countries
He now could be in charge 8f the church,money and the land the church has.

He was a very sick boy and dying of tuberculous. His uncle lord Somerset caused a war in Scotland which sparked a rebellion and he took Edward away as a prisoner.

Mary wanted the country to be catholic but she executed her vision poorly. She married a Spanish catholic to reinforce Catholicism but England thought the Spanish were going to invade. She killed 284 martyrs at the stake and was heavily criticised whereas Henry killed thousands but he didn’t.

She was using propaganda with them by portraying herself in a certain way which may not be true. E.g bridal hair shows that she’s fitting to be a bride or desirable.

They were a fleet of 130 ships who had loads of soldiers, a £2000000 income and lots of ships. They lost because the got caught in a storm. Elizabeth would give persuasive speeches to her men and giving them hope.

She tried to please Protestants by having services in English and monestries were not alllowee to be opened. She tried to please catholic’s by allowing priests to wear bright robes in church and some extreme Protestants would be put into a jail and 2 were executed.
