Suffragettes publicity was all good publicity. Many of the public lost sympathy with their cause as they felt they had gone to with their militant tactics

This is furfer emphasised by the concilisaion bill in parliment in 1911. a majority of mps backed womens suffrage. However by the time of the second reading the wild period had started and mps no longor voted in favour of womens suffrage.
Evaluation
In evaluation although the suffragettes did play a significant role in gaining women the vote and gathered a lot of publicity for the cause it could be argued that there the suffragists won a greater amount of support for the cause, this is emphasized by the fact that that the suffragists had 10 times the amount of members than the suffragettes had.

Emiline Pankhurst founded the suffragettes to help women gain the vote. This group used the motto “Deeds not words” as they found actions more noticeable than letters.
