Fertile Crescent
The region between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers; birthplace of the Sumerian and babylonian civilizations.
Mesopotamia
Light soil in rivers that is moisture retentive soil type with a high fertility rating.
Silt
A legacy that consists of canals, artificial lakes and gates. It allowed farmers to expand their fields and bring water to their crops.

A written set of laws that apply to everyone under a government.
