What is the standard of proof in a criminal case?
A
Beyond reasonable doubt - to prove guilt in a criminal case, what matters is that no other logical or reasonable conclusion can be reached (based on the facts) expect that the accused is guilty.

What is the standard of proof if the burden of proof is placed upon the accused?
A
If the burden of proof is on the accused (e.g. the accused is relying on a certain defence), then the standard of proof is on the balance of probabilities.
