what does the oxymoron “ignorant perfection” imply
It shows the ignorant human and perfection is for the baby and how they come together but there is a clear difference as well as that the baby is created perfect even all the flaws and imperfections are perfectly created.
Why does she mention a list of things in the body e.g. ossicles
To show even the smallest and random parts are precise and perfectly made and that there is so much “thought” put into a baby and that it’s to intricate for humans to create.
why is every stanza 9 lines long
A pregnancy is 9 months long which relates to a baby so it is to show how precise having a baby is and that it isn’t created by humans.
what does “the spirit” mean
It stands for humans and how humans aren’t perfect.
what does the last line signify
It says “and their pain.” which shows babies are born into an imperfect world and that pregnancy comes with a lot of pain. It also relates to babies becoming imperfect due to pain.
