The anonymity of the title shows how he speaks for all soldiers in his eyes.

This is done through the comparative adjective “richer” which suggests the soil is better with the bodies of dead soldiers in it.

The noun “flowers” is making a reference to England’s natural beauty. This gives a sense of patriotism to the poem.
The noun “ways” suggests there are many different things good about England.

Motif of patriotism throughout first stanza. The phrase “English air” suggests it gives him reassurance and confidence to be on the front line.

The religious imagery of the word “blest” suggests the soldiers believe god is on their side. This is because of their patriotism at the start of the war.

It’s consistent abab cdcd efgefg. But the length of the poem is short showing the speed of war.
