Supraspinatus muscle origin, insertion, innervation and function.
Origine:Supraspinatus fossa of scapula
Insertion: greater tubercle of humerus
Innervation: suprascapular nerve (C4 C6)
Function: abduction of arm to 15° at glenohumeral joint, stabilisation of humeral head in glenoid cavity.
Infraspinatus muscle. Ori and inser
Origine:Infraspinatus fossa of scapula
Insertion: greater tubercle of humerus
Innervation: subscapular nerve(C5,C6)
Function: abduction of arm to 15° at glenohumeral joint, stabilisation of humeral head in glenoid cavity.
Teres minor muscles ori, insertion, Innervation and function
Ori: lateral border of scapula
Inser: greater turbecle of humerus
Innervation: axillary nerve(C5 C6)
Function: external rotation and adduction of arm at glenohumeral joint,
Stabilisation of the humeral head in the glenoid cavity.
Subscapularis ori, insertion, Innervation and function
Ori: medial two-third of the subscapular fossa
Insertion: lesser tubercle of the humerus
Innervation: upper and lower subscapular nerves( C5 C7)
Function: internal rotation of arm, stabilisation of humeral head in glenoid cavity.
