A bird flying or a plant bending toward light.
What is reproduction?
Reproduction is the process of producing offspring of the same kind.
A cat giving birth to kittens, or a plant producing seeds.
What is sensitivity?
Sensitivity is the ability to sense and respond to changes in an organism’s surroundings.
A human pulling their hand away from a hot surface.
What is growth?
Growth is the process of increasing in size and repairing damaged parts.
A child growing taller, or a lizard regrowing its tail.
What is respiration?
Respiration is the process of using oxygen and glucose (a sugar) to provide energy.
Humans breathing in oxygen and converting it into energy during exercise.
What is excretion?
Excretion is the removal of waste substances that are no longer needed by the body.
Sweating to remove salts or urinating to expel waste.
What is nutrition?
Nutrition is the process of using food or other nutrients like water to stay alive.
Eating fruits for vitamins or drinking water to stay hydrated.
