A

Most romans lived in an insulae. They were up to 8 floors high and accessed by ladders. Poor heating. No pied water or toilets. Rent cheap on higher floors, often fell down and too dangerous to have ๐Ÿ”ฅ

What is a villa? ๐Ÿก ๐Ÿ’ฐ

A

Many rich romans lived in a villa. A family might live in a domus. A shop occupied the street front of the domus. Surrounded by walls.Small pool called an impluvium. Peristyle garden. Floors made from marble. Very little furniture.
