When cover is switched, what are the actively at work requirements?

Answer 1

For GLA and GCI, any new member who is absent from work on the date cover switches will continue cover with the new insurer on the same temporary absence terms that were applied by the existing insurer.
For GIP, any member who is absent from work on the date cover switches, will not be covered by the new insurer until they return to active employment and satisfy any conditions the insurer applies.

What is a discretionary entrant?

It is an employee who seeks to join a risk benefits arrangement outside of the standard scheme eligibility. Each insurer has slightly different terms for discretionary entrants.
