Q

Why aren’t fossils found in igneous rocks?

A

The intense heat that igneous rocks are subjected to would melt any fossils. Plus there are no organisms that live in volcanoes who could fossilize

Q

How can sedimentary rock become igneous rock?

A

After sedimentary rock is buried and exposed to high temperature and pressure, it melts to form magma. This magma may crystallize below the Earth’s surface to form intrusive igneous rock or erupt and form extrusive igneous rock
