How did the Roman Government work when it was a republic?
A republic meant that Rome was ruled by elected officials. This wasn’t fair, because the richer patricians were usually elected, so the plebeians had little to say about how the Republic was run.

They felt that Christianity was gaining too much power. This made them ban Christianity. There was a conflict between religions in Rome because other religions wouldn’t praise/worship the Roman gods.
