The Obituary of Gina Lavelle

A

Clare Wolfe is at the gym using the stationary cycle in order to lose weight for her husband. Outside she witnesses a man meeting woman who she knows is not his wife. Whilst on the cycle she reads the newspaper and finds a story about a young woman who was involved with organised crime and found herself killed. Clare Wolfe pedals faster and faster to a point where she doesn’t think she will stop.

A

A tsunami is scheduled to hit a town and the scene is a classroom in which parents are frantically collecting their children to bring them to safety. It comes to the point where only the teacher, principal and a boy named Max remain. The tsunami warning is cancelled but both teacher and principal look at Max to realise he is the student that no one came to rescue.

A

Andy Melrose’s wife has recently started calling him a water person while referring to herself as a tree person. Andy Melrose isn’t sure where this idea came from. On their next holiday, Andy goes to try out a new kayak given to him by his wife, Lynne. Whilst out in the water on their holiday, however, when Andy turns to expect to see Lynne watching him kayak, he notices she is gone.

A

Toms father comes to have a honeymoon with his new wife at Toms town. As an activity Tom decides to take his father and his wife to go whale watching with Toms girlfriend. The time spent whale watching is disappointing as Toms father does not show any interest and is very grumpy. In the end Toms father takes his wife and leaves for their hotel.

A

A woman goes to the beach with her daughter to throw away her old wedding ring from her now ex-husband who she discovered to be cheating on her after finding he had taken an interest in horoscopes; something she knew he hated. It is here she finds a corpse and fails to protect her daughter from seeing the tragedy. She ends up keeping the ring in the shock.

After getting caught for the possession of drugs, surfer Pablo Dyson is sent to prison in England where he falls for a counsellor/teacher. He ends up standing up for her against a group of skinheads in a way of showing his love for her. Pablo then calls his lawyer and asks to plead guilty.

Masculine shoes

A

Tyler Foss is a Californian location finder who works to find movie and advertisement locations. While on an Australian island for research, he encounters a crew creating a commercial involving the ‘Octopus Stylist’, a young woman with bright coloured hair and vivacious personality. Tyler gets to know the octopus stylist at a number of crew parties until becoming trapped by a group of dingoes on the island. He is forced to sacrifice his animal skin shoes in order to escape.

The Lap Pool

A

Leon K has committed fraud in a large corporation in Sydney by embezzling a substantial amount of money. As a result his wife and children have left him. He now lives alone in the country escaping from his crimes in a regular swim in his pool, time which is sometime interrupted by his lawyer to speak of business matter which he detests.
He then finds a snake in the pool and calls a wildlife volunteer to take care of it. He feels a sense of chemistry with her until she leaves. He then swims in the pool again only to be bitten by another snake. He calls the wildlife volunteer in his panic.

Adam moves with his divorced mother to live on the seaside. He is a young boy of about 15 that has demonstrated a keen interest in drawing cartoons with comical expression on his face. He has a non eventful first day at school only to come home and find his mother having sex with a strange man. He slips a sexual cartoon under the doorway for her to see.

A

Dan moves in with his wife Janine to a new home in the country and hears gunshots outside late at night only to find that it is one of their crazy farmer neighbours, an old man named Mango Ken for his mango farm. He regularly goes out at night to shoot at bats. After having dinner with Mango Ken and his wife Dan is told the best way to kill a pest in their farm, cane toads, is by squirting them with Dettol. It is later learned that Mango Ken is killed in a car accident whilst Dan begins to obsess over cane toad killing. The night after Kens death his wife is heard shooting into the sky at his legacy.

A

A divorced man is walking along the beach with his younger daughter. It is during this time he sees an elderly couple filming one another in the water. The woman falls into the water and is carried by the rip. The divorced man dives in to save her. When he returns he finds his daughter has run away. When he looks for her he discovers she is gone.

A

Eric Callahan is angry after his wife left him to go on a spiritual journey with a young hippie. He contemplates killing the hippie. Eric eventually finds a new girlfriend who disapproves of his pet carpet Python but whom Eric likes anyway. As she makes his life better the government threatens to take down a large property of land for growing. Eric decides to protest and finds his ex wife’s hippie lover in the protest also.
