Rebirth. The Renaissance was a rebirth in ideas (eg. Based their buildings on Greek and Roman architecture (brought back ideas from the past))

He was a pope that lived during the Renaissance. He is known for not following the ‘Pope law’. (Eg. He had a girlfriend, he had kids, used the church’s money for his own purposes, and at one point, he taught his son how to build and rule his own city state)

A

Savonarola was a monk who accused the pope (Alexander) of not acting like a man of God.
He was popular among the poorer people as he strongly believed that there should be fairer taxes.
He organised fires in the centre of Florence, where his supporters took and burned other people’s luxuries (mirrors, playing cards and dice, musical instruments…)

Claudius Galen was one of the people that was eager to find out what was in the human body. Since the church did not allow him to open up bodies, he guessed what was in the human body from his results in a pig dissection.
He wrote his thoughts in a book that was then published.
