When did the Middle Ages begin and with what event?
Middle Ages began from the 4 September 476 AD. It began with the fall of the Roman Empire and the Great Civilization to the world of isolation.
Why did Europe become such a violent place during the Early Middle Ages?
I think they were violent because the king thought he had everything in control and he didn’t care about other people’s opinion and lives.
What did Feudalism provide?
The lord provided peasants land and safety in exchange of taxes and rent.
What did a lord’s strength depend on?
I think the lord’s strength depend on the nobles and knights because the nobles and knights took oaths of loyalty and swore that they will protect the king.
Why is the feudalism hierarchy often drawn in a pyramid shape?
It is drawn that way because it showed classes and limits of the people during the Middle Ages
What two things did a lord needed to defend his property and people?
He needed to provide safety/military and land to the people in order to defend his property.
How could a regular serf escape from serfdom? Explain.
If a regular serf wanted to escape from serfdom, they had to ask for permission from the king otherwise he/she would not be able to. Also they are ONLY allowed to stay in their status that they were born in.
How was life as a merchant different than peasant or lord?
Life of a merchant is different than peasants or lord because the merchants were
How did a guild control society?
They sold goods to the peasants in town and was organized by the cooperative organization.
Why was religion so important to people living in the Middle Ages?
Religion was important at the time because all people believed in what the church.
Why do you think medieval people accepted without question what the church was telling them?
because the people didn’t have any other knowledge source and the church was their only knowledge source. And they believed/listened to the Church they will have good life.
Why do you think people would want to become a Monk or Nun?
I think they wanted to become monk or nun because they probably wanted some knowledge of their religion.

The Church was the only organization at the time offering education. How did this role give the church power?
this gave the church power because most people would come in church to donate ,ask for advice and etc.
