I’m not sure how to explain it but, like it’s how it’s played but not in terms or style or technique. Kinda like structure but not the actual structure

What’s monophonic?
A single, unaccompanied melodic line
What’s homophonic?
Melody with accompaniment
What is polyphonic?
More than one melody performed at the same time
What is heterophonic?
2 melodic lines that follow each other, but with more ornamentation in the main melody
What does it mean by tonality?
The key of the piece, and perhaps the changes that takes place
What does it mean by articulation?
Legato or staccato, and perhaps its changes
What does it mean by structure?
The phrases of the song that gotta be compared or what’s there e.g.
• Opening sections
• Idk…
What does it mean by character?
How it makes u feel
e.g.
• Animated
• Allegro
• Cantible
• Forceful
• Majestic
What does it mean by style and period?
That’s where u say it’s genre. That’s where u can either say romantic, classical or baroque i s’pose. Or could be easily told of it’s jazz. But ye that’s mostly it
