The Rate Of Photosynthesis Flashcards
What is the rate of photosynthesis affected by
Light concentration of CO2 and temperature
What is a limiting factor
It is something that stops photosynthesis from happening any faster
How is chlorophyll a limiting factor
The amount of chlorophyll in a plant can be affected by a disease if chloroplasts becoming damaged it will not make enough chlorophyll this means they can’t absorb as much light and the rate of photosynthesis is reduced
If there is not enough light how does it slow down the rate of photosynthesis
More light the faster it happens
At a certain point graph will flatten out and this means photosynthesis would go any faster
Because light is no longer the limiting factor
If there is not enough CO2 slows down the rate of photosynthesis
More CO2 there is the faster photosynthesis happens
So CO2 is a limiting factor
After a certain point the graph become flat and CO2 will not be a limiting factor
How does temperature affect the rate of photosynthesis
If the temperature is limiting factor it’s because it is too low
Because the enzymes needed for synthesis to work at low temperature
This is because the enzymes I damaged if the temperature is too high
