Why was the church important in the 1500s
At the time, there was a belief that not going to chirch would get you to hell

They didnt need to pay taxes

Only members of the church could read and write, so people relied on the church for education, this gave them more power.
The bible was written in latin, so only the preist could read it. This meant he could say anything and say it was from the bible

There was a lot of peer pressure and manipulation to make people go to church, and people also relied on it for education and hospital

hedven is a place of comfort and luxury where people lived for eternity in peace after your sins have been burned anay.
