1) complete events in the past e.g. ( I bought a car )
2) when talking about beginnings or endings (it BEGAN to snow or the movie ENDED with a surprise
3) Specific times and dates e.g. ( I got back yesterday at 10 or he lived in perue for 2 months)
4)listing past events in sequence e.g. ( I got up, I brushed my teeth, I styled my hair)
