Prayer is responding to God, by thought and by deeds, with or without words.
The raising of one’s mind and heart to God listening to Him.

Ways to Pray

2. Mental Prayer (Meditation and Contemplation
a form of prayer using words either spoken/recited, sung , chanted or read.
Vocal Prayer
a form of prayer which is made without employing either words or formulas of any kind. A prayer done in silence. (Meditation and contemplation).
Mental Prayer
reflection on Holy Scripture reading discerning its intended meaning with openness to spiritual direction from God.
Meditation
to lift our heart in love to God without any deliberative flow of thoughts or words.
Contemplation
How is prayer done?
- Prayer can be in private or public.
- Prayer could be done individually (alone).
- When two or more people gather together to pray, their prayer is called communal or corporate prayer.

A type of prayer that Is lifting up of the heart and mind to God, praising him asking nothing but to enjoy God’s presence.
Adoration
A type of prayer that expresses sorrow for sins. We confess our sins and ask for forgiveness.
Contrition
A type of prayer that brings before God the needs of others (prayer in behalf of others).
Intercession
A type of prayer that is an offering of ourselves, our lives and labors, in union with Christ, for the purposes of God.
Oblation
Type of prayer in which we present our own needs and request for God’s help.
