Happy to see his son return because he had turned his back on the family but he learnt by his mistake

He would’ve been excited because he was going on an adventure
Happy - because he was trying something new
The younger son - the son is away
The younger son was happy because he was trying something new
Sad - because he lost his money and had no food and missed his family
The younger son - the son returns
Happy - because his father brought him new clothes and gave him food
Grateful - to his father for forgiving him and understanding him
He recognised that he had sinned
The older son - the son leaves
Angry - because his brother left to party while he stayed to work with his Dad
The older son - the son is away
Angry - because his brother was having fun while he worked with his father
Worried - because he loved his brother
The older son - the son returns
Angry - because he wasted his Dad’s money and his Dad forgave him
His dad celebrated with a party when he had never been given a party
How is the relationship of the father and son like our relationship with God when we sin and turn away from him?
The father was forgiving, just like God
The father was patient while his son was away e.g the son was grateful to his father
