Were one of the two groups of Irish lords who’s names mostly had Mac or Ó in them.

A small area around Dublin controlled by the kind of England

The old English were descendants of the Normans & the people of the pale.

A legal agreement written by the houses tenant to state how long that person can live there.

What does Plantation mean?
People are sent to another country to live, work and take land from there.
What was an undertaker.
Someone who was in control of an area of the plantations.
What was a servitor?
A English or Scottish soldier who got land in the Ulster Plantation
What was surrender and regrant?
It was if your SURRENDERED your land and irish customs to the english then they would REGRANT them with a small piece of land and an english title. Eg.. Earl.
Who was a sheriff?
The person that Queen Mary had appointed to enforce the common law in one of the counties of the Laois-Offaly plantation.
What was the flight of the earls?
The Gaelic lords left Ireland for Europe because they refused to accept English rule.
What was the bawn?
A walled courtyard built by planters for defence.
Explain the nine years war
The gaelic Ulster lords went to war with the English because the English officials were telling them how to run their territories.
What was Protestant ascendancy
The Protestant ruling class in Ireland.
What was a Landlord
Someone who made their money from renting their land to ,mostly Catholic, tenant famers during the Cromwellian plantation.
