promised to gather all the pearls and sell them at the capital and come back with money
but the pearl agents never came back
What is the concept of being “faithful to your post” given by the priest?
nobody should try to step out of line and change or else there will be consequences
How did the priest oppress the villagers?
come every year to give a sermon so that Kino’s people stays lower class and never try to seek fortune
What do the fearful villagers say after Kino had dealt with the pearl buyers?
they’re afraid that they may have been cheated their entire lives, and maybe Kino had cut off his own head
