60,000 bronchioles in each lung- 120,000 total

Little air sacs that are organized in clusters like grapes
300,000,000 in each lung- 600,000,000 total
If spread out, they would take up the surface area of a tennis court
Where the gas exchange takes place
- Capillaries
Little blood vessels around to alveoli
Acts like a net
