What dose the base do in the microscope and where is it?
It is at the bottom of the microscope, and provides a flat surface to support the microscope.
What is the substage light and where is it located
Located on top of the base, this is where the light passes through.
Where is the light control?
It is on the side of the microscope. It turns the light on and off
Where is the ocular lenses?
It is where I look through .
Where and what is the stage?
It is the platform that the slide rest on while being viewed. It has a hole which allows the light to pass through.
What and where is the mechanical stage?
It holds the slide in position
it is attached to the stage
it has 2 controls under to move it
What and where is the condenser
It is at the bottom it is the lever and it concentrates the light on the specimen.
What and where is the iris diaphragm
It adjust the amount of light that can go through the condenser. It moves side to side.
What and where is the coarse adjustment knob?
The big knob and this brings up the stage higher to focus on the slide. only use it with the scanning objective lens.
What and where is the fine adjustment knob?
It is on the left and right side and this allows us to focus on the specimen.
What is the objective lenses?
It is attached to the rotating nosepiece there is 4 of them
4x scanning
10x low power
40X high power
100X oil immersion
What is the arm on the microscope
It connects to the head and the base
How to hold and care for it ?
1 hand on arm , the other on the base
To clean use special grit-free lens paper to clean the lenses
