When was the hungarian uprising and how did it play out

A

The hugarian uprising happened from october 23rd to november 11th 1956 after hungary’s leader nagy annoced the country was leaving the warsaw pact on november 1st 1956 therefore leaving the soviet sphere of influence as nagy though he could break away from soviet influence after the death of stalin. This resulted in the ussr and the warsaw pact invading the country in order to overthrown nagy and replace him with a pro-soviet government. This involved sending 1000 tanks into budapest on november 4th which pushed hungary to send a desparate call for help to the west reading ‘Help! Help! Help!’ but the west ignorded it. This lead 20,000 hungarians being killed and nagy being removed and replaced by a ruthless pro ussr leader called kadar who was nicknamed ‘mini stalin’ for his brutality
