Suitor who sets a trap to kill Telemachus. First suitor to be killed

Odysseus’s father who appears in book 24
Calypso
Nymph who holds Odysseus prisoner for several years, until Hermes comes to persuade her to let him go
Proteus
Son of Poseidon, herder of the sea. Often referred to as “old man of the sea”. Captured by Menelaus to get truths out of him
Circe
Witch-goddess who turns Odysseus’s crew into pigs. After getting help from Hermes, Odysseus and his crew stay with Circe for a year
