Q

What happened at the battle?

A

William used his archers to attack the Saxon housecarls but that didn’t work. So he ordered the axemen to attack, but they had trouble getting up the hill. So the calvary charged but suddenly retreated. Some Saxons were drawn out, and t’were killed, so William did this tactic and the archers attacked again, and the Normans succeeded.
