The muscles
What does the PNS divide into?

Transmits and receives sensory information to the CNS and controls voluntary movement
What does the ANS do?
Transmits and receives information from the organs and controls involuntary functions such as the stomach and heart
What does the ANS divide into?
The sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems
What does the sympathetic nervous system do?
Arouses the body to produce more action (accelerant)
What does the parasympathetic nervous system do?
Calms the body to reduce activity (brake)
What word is used to describe the fact that the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems cannot work in the same area of the body at once?
