A

Russia was Communist, Germany was Fascist. Also, Hitler had often spoke about how Russians were inferior and that he wanted to destroy Communism.

A

He thought that they were weak thanks to what had happened in Manchuria, Abyssinia and the Rhineland. Also, Britain and France had signed the Munich Agreement with Hitler in 1938 which left out Russia.
