  • The economic miraccle refered to the fact that Hitler had solves the issues that came from the Great Depression and has effectively stabilkised the economy.
  • This has been largely criticised as a myth due to several factors such as invisible uneployment, the clack of trade unions and reduced worker rights.
  • This insinuates that economic prosperity was heavily propagated and largely fictious.
  • Despite this, it is alos important to recognise that the econimc miracle can be recognised in serval economic plans such as economic autarky and the rearmament forces.

- This is highlighted through the basis of the claim that the ‘battle for work’ had been on due to Nazi economic policies

  • The Nation Statistics failed to recognise Jews, Communists, gypsies and those in unpaid agricultural workers and unemployed.

- Official fugures show dramatic reduction by 1934 and a continuing fall there after

  • Discriminatory policies to those deemed as the ‘untermenschen’, made way for boosted employment for the Aryan race, indicating the arabisation of differnet job vancies. This can be seen in the Law of Restoration of the Professional Civil Service (1933), whcih dismisses Jews from the Civil Service, thus allowing the German population to become employed at the expense of the Jewish poulation.

- The reintroduction of contrictionin 1935, for young men aged 18-25, took a large proportion of young males out of the labour market. women left unemployment freeing up jobs for men.

Judgment:
- Therfore, teh economic miravle between 1933 and 1939 was indeed a propagnda myth due to the omittance of soical groups from the employment statistics, displaying an image of a prospering Germany.

The Nazi miracle was a success and not just a propaganda myth because it had created an economic autarky.

Analyis:
- Autarky witj its links to national soverignity and its embodiment of national pride and independence, ditted well with the Nazis ideological aims.

Evidence:
- Four year plan set out clear methodolodgy to achieve aims including: establishing new state owned industrial plans such as the Herman Goering Steelwork, increasing production of key commodities such as iron, steel and chemicals.

Evidence:
- By 1939, Germnay still imported 1/3 of its raw materials / similar shortages for food production / Germany’s economy did not have the resources to achieve all the regimes aims.
