Supernatural meaning
Supernatural dimension: An existence above or part of a material world that exceeds the power of humans and nature. it is the most significant power of all the religious worldviews in that this belief of a divine being is greater than humankind and power itself.
What is a worldview?
Worldviews are shared belief systems that vary across cultures and evolve over time, shaping diverse perspectives on reality.
What is a Transcendent dimensions?
refers to a belief in divine powers who goes beyond human limitations. An example of this is God who is a divine being in heaven that created life.
What is an Immanent dimension?
A world view that recognises a divine being or powers as a reality in the world. An example of this is carrying the Thera daven Buddhists carrying the Buddhists teachings throughout their daily lives.
Is christinaity a Transcendant or Immanent world view, why?
Christianity is an example of both Transcendent and Immanent world views. Christianity is primarily a transcendent worldview because it emphasizes God’s existence beyond the physical universe, while still acknowledging His presence within creation.
Define beliefs and believers:
- Beliefs are key tenets, doctrines, values which make up the religious practices of believers
Define sacred texts and writings:
- Usually, the most important beliefs of religions are held in sacred writings
- They contain sacred stories which explain historical and non-historical means explaining how people are connected to the supernatural dimension.
Define ethics:
- Reasoning behind moral decision making
- The laws which are embodied tenants which regulate moral decision making
Define rituals and ceremonies:
- Rituals and ceremonies often are used from expression of words or symbols.

Contribution to individuals lives in a persons search for meaning:
Religion explains creation, life and life after death, thus showing people the reason to their lives and helping them to live by their attitudes and ideas.

Religion fosters groups of disciples and by being active in this community and going through rituals and prayers with everyone it creates a sense of belonging in that religion and to those beliefs.

Religions, through sacred texts, outline the morals and ethics that any individual should have s that they may go out into life and use them to bring love and peace.

Rituals in Religion help individuals to celebrate the milestones in their life and bring them closer to their supreme being, it also gives them reassurance because people have been doing it for thousands of years.

Religion and culture are interchangeable with both influencing the other, religious traditions have been able to influence architectural structures, dictated dress and diet in cultures and helped cultures foster a sense of nationalism.

Contribution to society and culture for religion being conservative/narrow in it’s thinking:
Religion however is also very narrow in its thinking as it has it’s set beliefs and may find it hard to accept that other religions have their own beliefs, some religion would like to be the dominant religion thus causing war.

However, religion has also brought a lot of peace, especially to those who are worried about the questions of life and by using it’s ethics and morals people have been able to connect with others in a calm way. It has also been adapted to suit modern day problems such as diversity and acceptance.
