Why was Thomas becket murdered
Because the king didn’t like how the church had so much power so he made Thomas (his friend) Archbishop of Canterbury but Thomas took the job seriously so when the asked him to follow his plan he refused. Henry ll was so angry so becket flew of to France and when he came back after 6 years excommunicated every monk who had helped Henry but when Henry found out he was furious and shouted is there any one who will rid me of this troublesome priest and 4 knights arrived. They enter and find Thomas becket since it is bad to kill someone in a church they decided to drag him and it didn’t work because he was praying so they had no choice so they beheaded him in the church
