He thought Weimar was weak and vulnerable - there had been economic crisis during 1923

Why did the Putsch fail?
The German Police did not support the Nazis, as Hitler had hoped, and opened fire on them. Lossow and Kahr, who had initially agreed to support the Nazis snuck out and alerted the police.

16, including Hitler who was shot in the arm
What crime was Hitler charged with?
Treason
How long was Hitler sentenced to serve in Landsberg prison?
5 years but he only ever did 9 months. Treason should have got a life sentence.
In what way could the Munch Putsch be seen as a success for the Nazis?
Hitler used the trial as a way of getting publicity. He got a light sentence which showed that courts were lenient to right-wing views.
Why was the Munich Putsch a turning point for the Nazis?
Whilst in jail Hitler re-planned his approach and decided to try and get power through becoming popular and getting votes.

Mein Kampf (My Struggle) which contained hundreds of pages on Hitler’s aims and ideas. Mainly the domination of Europe, land for Germany and destruction of Jewish people.
