What were the key events of the Munich Putsch
The Bavarian state officials were having a meeting in a beerhall called Burgerbrau Keller in Munich
Hitler burst in with 6000 members of the SA and demanded power of Bavaria
Von Kahr and von Lossow reluctantly agreed to support Hitler
The SA took over army headquarters and newspaper officers
General Ludendorff allowed von Kahr and von Lossow to leave the beer hall, they went back on their word and ordered the Army to put down the Putsch
Hitler decided to march through the streets of Bavaria and hoped people would join him
However the Nazis were no match for the army and 16 NSDAP members were killed and the Putsch ended

Von Kahr was the leader of Bavaria
Von Lossow was the head of the Bavarian army
What was the impact of the putsch
Hitler was put on trial and charged for treason
The judge sympathised with him
Ludendorff was freed
Hitler was sentenced to 5 years but only served 9 months

Hitler realised he needed to change his strategy-He couldnt force his way into power he had to switch to a political campaign
